VCs guide to buying food
You are a sophisticated VC of refined tastes (or so you think) with a penchant for entertaining who’s throwing a Memorial Day barbecue for your socialite friends. The menu includes delicate puff pastries with a peanut butter filling. You’ll probably need 4 jars of the stuff. What do you do?
a) Go to the nearest supermarket and buy the 4 jars of peanut butter
b) Send your assistant to the supermarket
c) Buy 4 jars of imported American spread in Amazon
d) You sulk and don’t buy anything
The answer, of course, is C which would’ve come to you easily if you knew my boss.
Otherwise genetically predisposed to cheapness, spending the equivalent to $25 on each jar of Jif peanut butter re-routed through Scotland, not to mention waiting for 3 weeks to get the shipment, somehow makes sense. Proof that some people are born with a sponge between their ears.
