Smartassery

Some dude (let’s call him Angry Rob) who evidently has nothing better to do but police the Internet has taken issue with my opinion that the Beatles blow. He seems rather adamant that I a) don’t write my view of things and b) change my opinion to his. Watch out fellow bloggers, Internet censorship has arrived.

The Beatles still suck balls. And not one of his silly arguments has made a contundent case as to why they don’t.

In typical American fashion, he completely took one random post (my opinion) and made it personal. As in I shouldn’t dislike the Beatles because a) I didn’t live in the 60′s and he did, and b) I didn’t live in the 60′s and he did. The depth of his proposition blew me away. Then Mr. Rob checked in with my website every day for three days to reply to my enlightened comments. It’s really scary that he actually thinks his opinion somehow has more weight that anyone else’s.

But the fact is, I’ve grown bored of the stupid banter. You can teach the monkey tricks, but in the end it’s still a bloody monkey. 

Let’s put it in small little words for Rob.

GET A LIFE

You’ve made a herculean effort to try me to get to read your blog. I actually visited it once but then a fly happened to come into the room and completely took over my attention. Yup, it needs that much help. So instead of trying to ram your opinions down my throat in my own blog which is preposterous, you can go to your only-visited-by-family-members-blog and post your brain farts there.

Here’s another clue. If you don’t like what’s being said somewhere, don’t go there. That also goes for radio, TV, books, newspapers, and any other form of mass communication. You may disagree with what I think but the fact remains that no one is forcing you to read my posts.

There will always be things that don’t rock your boat. You can choose to get offended or you can choose to piss off. Guess which one I’m telling you to do right now?
